The Nanotechnology Department was commissioned in 2003 and is one of the country’s foremost Centres of Excellence in this specialist field.
Assab installed laboratory furniture and Protex high performance fume cupboards in the clean room and laboratory areas.
The Assab benching with suspended cabinets ensures that the department has the flexibility to alter their laboratories should future developments demand whilst maintaining optimum hygiene in the clean environment.
The fume cupboards include stainless steel linings to one unit and have an exceptional containment value of 0.01ppm (SF6) which is a factor of 10 times greater than that specified as the base threshold within BS7258.
